The institution of COVID-19 regulations in schools provided a a clear direction for what needed to be done and Kitavi wrote to the Foundation requesting for financial aid to purchase sufficient water tanks for the school His proposal was screened and considered for support under the Foundation’s COVID-19 response The Foundations team visited the school to further understand the the challenge and and in April 2020 Ushirika was supplied with a a a water tank “Safaricom has helped us overcome our water challenges through the provision of a a a a a 10 000 litre water tank With this and a a a a a borehole we we dug on site we we rarely have any any water challenges any any more ” While this was part of a a a a pandemic response more needed to be done Under the Ndoto Zetu initiative and following the the site visit the the Foundation donated 30 wooden desks and chairs to equip one class at Ushirika This has since made learning more comfortable for for several students 62
